Job Description

Summary

This job is for an experienced IT professional who analyzes, designs, and manages computer systems and programs for a state vocational rehabilitation department.

It involves leading projects, solving technical issues, coordinating with teams, and providing support to users.

A good fit would be someone with a technical background who enjoys problem-solving, project management, and working in a supportive government environment.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience on a year-for-year basis
  • At least 2 years of experience in computer system development and modification
  • Ability to perform senior-level design and analysis of computer programs and systems
  • Experience serving as a project manager for system development and modifications
  • Skills in directing quality assurance, testing, and reviewing completed systems
  • Proficiency in resolving system and application problems, including on-call duties
  • Ability to coordinate with database staff on developing/modifying databases, stored procedures, and queries

Under limited supervision you will:
  • Performs senior level design and analysis of computer programs and systems. Follows guidelines of user and Systems Development Manager.
  • Serves as senior project manager in the development and modification of computer systems.
  • Directs quality assurance in all stages of testing and reviews completed systems.
  • Serves as primary contact for help desk personnel in resolving system and application problems. Serves as on-call analyst for problem determination and resolution of problems detected in any and all production systems.
  • Coordinates with database staff for the purpose of developing or modifying databases, formulating stored procedures, and queries.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Reports to supervisor and documents the status of projects on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties and complete other projects as assigned by I.T. management.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and 2 years of experience in computer system development and modification.
Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
