Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and tracking medical and non-medical equipment at a naval health clinic, including conducting inventories, preparing purchase requests, and using specialized software to keep records accurate.

It supports the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by ensuring equipment is accounted for, secure, and ready for use.

A good fit would be someone with experience in logistics or inventory control, attention to detail, and comfort with computer systems and basic equipment handling.

Key Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience analyzing documents, preparing reports/requests, using systems like DMLSS, ETIDS, or LogiCole for inventory management, and operating government vehicles/material-handling equipment

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Health Clinic, Directorate of Resource Management, Materiel Management, Lemoore, CA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing various documents to prepare reports and/or requests, utilizing office automation systems such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Electronic Turn-In Document System (ETIDS), and/or LogiCole for inventory records management, and operating government vehicles (GOVs) and material-handling equipment to support equipment movement and disposal operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Information Management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Maintains accountability for medical and non-medical equipment using the Defense Medical Logistics, Standard Support (DMLSS) system, LogiCole, and related logistics databases.
  • Conducts annual inventories and periodic spot checks to verify equipment location, condition, and security.
  • Prepares purchase requests and procurement packages for routine and specialized equipment needs.
  • Ensures equipment transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Uses government vehicles (GOVs) and material-handling equipment to support equipment movement and disposal operations.
  • Provide guidance on work and administrative matters.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for inventories and disposals and schedules inspections, property transfers, and appointments.
