This position is located in Juneau, Alaska and reports to the Director of ASMI’s Communication Program. This position is a range 14-16-18 flex position.

Salary $2,952 biweekly

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is seeking proactive, detail-oriented candidates for the International Marketing Coordinator - Europe position!

This position is located in Juneau, Alaska, works closely with the Alaska seafood industry, and oversees contractors in Europe.

Responsibilities include:
  • Participation in development of marketing strategy and production of annual grant applications for federal funding.
  • Analysis of data, statistics and marketing issues regarding Alaska seafood in designated markets alongside overseas marketing representatives/contractors operating in-market.
  • Oversight and implementation of public relations (PR)/marketing activities such as trade shows, press/trade missions and seminars, social media, and in-store promotions.
  • Lead project management of the Seafood Expo Global (SEG) trade show, overseeing planning, execution, and post-event coordination.

    Duties include liaising with industry members, stand-builder, and event partners and management of associated events such as the seafood reception and press dinner, and ensuring effective budget planning and control,

  • Close communication with accounting staff and overseas contractors and related entities for the careful budget management of USDA and State funds and their compliance.
  • Managing market surveys, research projects, and program evaluations,
  • Responding to requests for information and support from the Alaska seafood industry, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), ASMI Board of Directors and committee members, media, foreign trade partners, ASMI staff and state agencies.
  • Fulfilling extensive reporting requirements; providing regular written and verbal status updates for presentations to ASMI board, committee members, and the USDA.
  • Regular domestic and international travel – the successful candidate should be comfortable flying on small planes and travelling by boat.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in marketing, international relations, English, or a related field, or three years work experience in a related field. International study or work experience are preferred, as are foreign language skills.

State of Alaska Executive Exempt (XE) range 16-18 wage and benefits.
