Job Description

Summary

This job involves acting as a technical expert in the Navy, advising on the design, testing, and evaluation of defense systems to ensure they work effectively and meet operational needs.

You'll review plans, interpret test results, and help develop training and support strategies for military programs.

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority.

There are Basic Requirements for a 0801 General Engineer and 1515 Operations Research Analyst. You must meet the Basic Requirement for at least one of these series.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some of the following: 1) Evaluating defense acquisition systems and ensuring test and evaluation results of programs are correct; 2) Providing expert advice on the development and interpretation of operational testing; 3)Developing and implementing training plans; 4) Reviewing all evaluation and operation tests for validity and sound engineering/analytical principals; and 5) Ensuring all selected methods are feasible from both an operational and economic viewpoint.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a technical expert and consultant providing expert advice to senior level personnel.
  • You will provide analytical, engineering, and technical advice to the Operational Test Directors (OTD) on the design of operational testing, written analytical reports, and test plans.
  • You will assist with interpretation and evaluation of operational tests results and program designs.
  • You will review all test and evaluation master plans, operational test plans, and evaluation reports.
  • You will be responsible for developing and redefining contractor support requirements for assigned programs.
