Full Job Description

You will serve as Principal Technical Manager for Air Vehicle Flight Controls / Vehicle Management Systems in the Air System Group of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

  • You will serve as technical expert for Flight Controls/Vehicle Management Systems technologies to include aerodynamics, vehicle command and control, modeling/simulation system, redundancy management, and system performance.
  • You will provide technical leadership for the development with focus of integrating technologies into new and existing designs.
  • You will oversee execution of technical projects to ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering standards, airworthiness requirements, and environmental policies.
  • You will provide senior technical consultation and expertise to NAWCAD-AD and NAVAIR leadership as well as to ONR, DARPA, PEOs, SYSCOMS and the Navy.
  • You will guide the future direction of air vehicle engineering research and development to respond to future requirements.
