Base salary range: $88,520 - $115,079

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading engineering work on cranes used on Navy ships and aircraft carriers, focusing on improving their design, reliability, and integration with other ship systems.
You'll handle research, testing, and problem-solving to ensure these cranes meet military standards.
It's a great fit for experienced engineers who enjoy technical leadership in a naval environment and have hands-on knowledge of heavy machinery.
You will serve as a Shipboard Cranes Technical Specialist and Lead Systems Engineer in the Propulsion, Power, Auxiliary, Machinery Systems Department, Hull & Deck Machinery Systems Division of NSWC PHILA DIV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer managing in-service engineering, design, development, test and evaluation of shipboard crane systems and related system/ship interfaces.
Examples of qualifying experience may include: Experience with development and/or application of shipboard cranes (or similar weight handling equipment) technical specifications and standards; Knowledge of shipboard cranes (or similar weight handling equipment) design, operation, and maintenance; Skill in risk assessment; Experience with technical project management.
