Full Job Description

You will serve as either a COMPUTER ENGINEER, COMPUTER SCIENTIST, or DATA SCIENTIST in the DIGITAL ANALYTICS INFRASTRUCTURE AND TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT (DAiTA) GROUP, INTEGRATED BATTLESPACE SIMULATION AND TEST (IBST) DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring effective configuration management practices, including version control, documentation, and change tracking, maintaining the integrity and traceability of software systems; 2) Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver innovative solutions that meet organizational goals; 3) A thorough understanding of software engineering best practices including debugging, testing, version control, and agile development methodologies; 4) Designing and developing software tools that support data analysis and visualization, ensuring usability, reliability, and performance; and 5) Providing technical expertise to recover, analyze, and modernize legacy software systems, converting them into efficient, maintainable, and scalable modern code.

  • You will serve as a project engineer, computer scientist, or data scientist involved with the development and application of advanced theories, methods and operations in research and engineering, test and evaluation, and logistics functions.
  • You will identify and solve a wide variety of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables and constraints.
  • You will deliver optimized technical solutions that are balanced to achieve required technical performance within cost, schedule and technology constraints.
  • You will function as a project lead, program manager, team lead or member of an integrated team/group providing technical guidance to a technical workforce and meeting customer requirements for products and/or services.
  • You will manage a project/program and apply tools including Risk Management, Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis, Technical Performance Measurement, Technical Reviews, Modeling and Simulation, and Earned Value Management.
