Base salary range: $88,520 - $115,079

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves analyzing intelligence on China's foreign policy and its relations in East Asia and the Pacific to guide U.S. decisions on international affairs.
The role requires producing reports, leading discussions with other government experts, and advising high-level officials on key issues.
It's ideal for someone with deep knowledge of China and experience in national security who can handle complex geopolitical analysis.
This position is in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 50 § 3024(v) and appointments are made without regard to the requirements of the Competitive Service by laws, Executive order, or OPM regulations.
This position is in the China Division of the Bureau of Intelligence and Research's Office of Analysis for East Asia and the Pacific (INR/EAP/CH).
The division analyzes information on China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to produce intelligence informing U.S. policy and international relations.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing and advising on political, economic, social, military, and geopolitical developments involving China.
Experience with the Department of State and Intelligence Community in executing national intelligence activities.
Experience delivering briefings and written analysis to senior policymakers on China's foreign policy.
Experience engaging in interagency processes within the Intelligence Community and national security agencies. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
