This job involves working on naval instruments and equipment, such as those used in radar, sonar, and communications systems, by installing, repairing, testing, and calibrating them to ensure they function properly.
Workers help troubleshoot problems, replace faulty parts, and follow technical diagrams to maintain these critical tools on ships and bases.
It's a good fit for hands-on technicians with experience in mechanical and electrical repairs who enjoy detailed, precision work in a military environment.
You will serve as a INSTRUMENT WORKER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
