Full Job Description

You will serve as an INSTRUMENT MECHANIC in the Components Product Management, Instruments Deputy for Production Management of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will perform standard repairs specified operations and checkout of mechanical, electrical and pressure components/assemblies.
  • You will induct, clean, screen, buff and polish, preserve and package a variety of new and used Aircraft and Engine bearings.
  • You will assist higher graded bearing reconditioners to visually and dimensionally inspect new and used bearings.
  • You will perform limited repair functions, modification, parts replacement, calibration, disassembly of such items as tachometers, automatic flight control systems, navigation and guidance instruments, electronic components and test equipment.
  • You will perform limited processing and evaluation of such values as pressure, temperature, velocity, displacement weight, heat, torque and other parameters relating to the operation of precision electromechanical instruments and equipment.
