Job Description:
As a designated Staff Authority, the position plays a key role in the overall operation of the clinical departments across Civil and Forensic Mental Health (CFMH) with respect to compliance monitoring (based upon clinical systems outputs and analyses), and in using clinical data to improve operational performance and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordination and facilitation of the Behavioral Electronic Health Record (BEHR) and clinical system user groups across CFMH.
Compilation and prioritization of requested changes to BEHR and clinical systems as end-user specifications.
Adherence to clinical system change-control protocols, and the dissemination of decisions related to clinical system design, specifications, enhancement requests, and management direction and guidance for future system development.
Coordinate and collaborate with senior leadership across the hospitals to assess, plan, improve, evaluate and maintain Behavorial Electronic Health Record (BEHR) and other clinical systems.
Develop curricula and provide clinical systems in-services, training and end-user support. The position routinely evaluates CFMH’s needs to ensure training effectiveness.
Adheres to and references regulatory standards, including, but not limited to, the Joint Commission standards, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Code of Colorado Records CCR-27-65, Colorado Department of Personnel Rules and Regulations, and the Colorado Department of Human Services.
Nine (9) years of professional experience in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, Medical/Healthcare, Administration, Professional Clinical Experience or
an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

Education and Experience:A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, Medical/Healthcare, Administration, Professional Clinical Experience or an occupational field related to the work assigned equal to nine (9) years.
Experience working in a hospital or medical/psychiatric facility
Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience or as a subject matter expert with EHRs
Informatics experience, including education, training, or certification in Informatics
Experience providing support, education and training among clinical and administrative staff
Experience with Cerner EHR
Experience in change management or project management, including education, training or certification in Informatics

Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications.

Relevant years of state service experience.
