This job involves working as a registered nurse focused on preventing and controlling infections in a state-run nursing home, including creating policies, investigating outbreaks, monitoring resident health, and training staff to keep everyone safe.
It's ideal for a nurse with experience in healthcare and a strong interest in infectious diseases who wants to protect vulnerable older adults.
The role combines leadership in infection control with hands-on nursing care when needed.

As an Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse (IPRN), you will coordinate infection prevention and control program (IPCP) activities to prevent, detect, and mitigate communicable diseases and infections in a Commonwealth operated nursing home.
You will develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures that follow recognized standards for preventing, identifying, and controlling infectious diseases.
You will also conduct outbreak investigations, monitor resident health, and collaborate with facility staff to ensure quality resident care.
This role requires thorough knowledge of disease processes, pathology, and symptoms as well as the ability to implement effective infectious agent surveillance systems.
In addition, you will assist with the direct delivery of quality nursing care as needed, monitor compliance with IPCP requirements, and identify areas of deficiency, and develop plans to educate staff on proper infection control procedures and processes.
