This job involves overseeing daily operations at an aquatic facility like a pool or park, including supervising staff, ensuring safety for visitors and employees, handling customer service, and managing finances like collecting fees and balancing cash.

Position is responsible for routine daily operational tasks related to aquatic operations at assigned park location under the supervision and direction of the pool or park manager.
Work related activities would include all facets of recreational programming, aquatic operations, frontline customer service, and service delivery. Established policies and procedures control actions.
Independent judgment is utilized when there are no available policies and procedures and errors in judgment may cause serious risk and significant liability.
Incumbent will be required to exercise good judgment in the areas of aquatic safety and facility operations.
Incumbent will be required to make quick, concise, and correct decisions that may affect the health, safety and well-being of pool patrons and staff. Position reports to Varies.

Key Responsibilities
Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications
A minimum of one (1) years prior related experience in aquatic operations.
Requires a thorough knowledge of pool and water chemistry and operations to include water testing and chemical applications, chemical controller calibration, set points and operation, chemical pump operation, back washing of pool filters, cleaning strainer baskets, slide and play feature motor operation, pool heater operation, pool vacuuming, vacuum operation and maintenance, chemical and supply ordering.
Licenses/Certifications required or ability to obtain: Lifeguard License, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, CPR and First Aid Teaching Certificate, Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator Certification.
Position will require a respiratory physical and fit test for chemical facemask, maintenance, and chemical handling procedures training. Job knowledge and experience in Aquatic Operations.
Experience in training and supervising employees. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be customer service and people oriented.
Ability to follow established procedures, policies, and protocol.
Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma and/or GED equivalent preferred.
Working Conditions
Head Lifeguards are assigned to an aquatic facility as a primary work location in a standard aquatic facility environment, including outdoors in most cases.
Incumbent will work with pool chemical applications. This position will work under the supervision of the park manager, assistant park manager, and pool manager.
Work hours will include holidays, weekends, and evenings. Incumbent will be expected to travel to various locations for work related activities, training, and meetings.
May be in working environments in which employee is the only staff person on site at a particular time. Head Lifeguards will be exposed to hazards of pool chemicals and cleaning supplies.
