Key Requirements

  • Experience in positions like plant engineer, maintenance foreman, industrial engineer, maintenance machinist, machine repairer, machine rebuilder, or engineering lead worker
  • Ability to provide instruction in hands-on and theoretical aspects of industrial maintenance
  • Skills in classroom management, syllabus development, lesson planning, and student supervision
  • Flexibility to teach varied schedules including daytime, evenings, weekends, online, or at high schools

Full Job Description

Join our team! Aiken Technical College is recruiting Industrial Maintenance Adjunct Instructors.

Class schedules will vary from semester to semester. Classes may meet in the daytime, evenings, weekends, or online. Faculty may be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) as well as teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
  • Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi for course taught.
  • Ensure that course is taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
  • Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
  • Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course.
  • Supervision of students.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a related industrial discipline with five (5) years of direct experience in the industrial maintenance field required. Knowledge and experience as a millwright, maintenance mechanic, electronic technician (industrial), plan engineer, maintenance foreman, industrial engineer, maintenance machinist, machine repairer, machine rebuilder, or engineering lead worker required.
