Full Job Description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASS/RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT) in CHRO-SOUTHEAST ALBANY at MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE, ALBANY GA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying position classification and position management principles, advising managers on organizational structures, classification changes, and developing position descriptions; evaluating and recommending strategies to resolve staffing problems.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the technical expert for classification and serve as the senior advisor for all serviced positions.
  • You will review position descriptions (PDs), conduct desk audits, write reports of findings, and prepare evaluations as required for internal activity use or in response to external requirements.
  • You will provide advice on classification appeals, ensuring that packages comply with Department of War (DoW) and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) requirements.
  • You will participate in position management studies and and reviews, establishing career ladders, determining most efficient organizations, eliminating duplication of effort, and so on.
  • You will represent the organization as the classification expert and chairperson for the Environmental Differential Pay/Hazardous Duty Pay team.
  • You will advise the organization's customers regarding recruitment and placement options, providing managers with flexible alternatives for problem resolution.
