Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping classify and manage job positions within the Navy's shipyard, ensuring roles are properly defined, evaluated, and aligned with federal rules.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the EXECUTIVE SUPPORT OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Norfolk, Virginia salary range: $51,210-$81,436 Kittery, Maine salary range: $57,150-$90,882 FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of federal HR classification philosophy, concepts, principles, methods, practices, programs, techniques, laws, and executive orders for a wide range of professional, scientific, administrative and highly technical positions.

Experience planning and coordinating studies to identify short and long-term position classification and position management needs.

Experience analyzing, evaluating and advising management on the impact of proposed reorganizations and implementation of classification standards representing new work.

Experience developing written reports and/or briefings outlining findings and recommendations.
