Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves supporting the onboarding of new Foreign Service employees at the Department of State, offering advice on hiring processes, pay, benefits, and resolving related issues for diplomats and staff.
It requires handling inquiries from various people inside and outside the department to ensure smooth entry into service.
A good fit would be someone with federal HR experience, especially in international roles, who enjoys problem-solving and advising on complex personnel matters.
This position is located in the Bureau of Personnel and Training, Office of Talent Acquisition, Office of Intake Planning and Onboarding, Onboarding Division (TAC/IPO/ON) which oversees policy and operational matters involving entry into the Foreign Service (FS) and paid internships for the Department of State.
This position provides technical support and advisory services to managers and employees regarding a variety of HR activities for new and former Foreign Service employees.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing a Foreign Service onboarding program.
Experience evaluating issues and making recommendations to resolve complex human resources problems. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position. Major Duties:
