Job Description

Summary

This entry-level human resources assistant role at a U.S.

Army base in Pennsylvania involves supporting recruitment by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and helping connect qualified candidates with managers.

It's a developmental position that starts with basic administrative tasks and can grow into more advanced HR work.

A good fit would be someone with some office experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using computers for everyday tasks.

Key Requirements

  • Six months of progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience for NF-02 level, demonstrating ability to handle HR tasks and use HR information systems
  • Six months of HR work experience for NF-03 level, including recruitment functions like posting announcements and rating applicants
  • Experience using automated recruitment and staffing systems such as USA Staffing, Avue, Resumix, or PeopleSoft
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work with various human resources information systems
  • Strong skills in responding to inquiries about application procedures, statuses, and qualification criteria
  • Prior experience in a NAF Human Resources Office for recruitment and placement (highly preferred for best qualification)

Full Job Description

This position is located at Carlisle Barracks, PA Incentives and Bonuses: Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: NF2 (Developmental) - Possess six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, which demonstrates the ability to accomplish various human resources tasks and utilize human resource information systems.

The experience and ability listed above must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. NF3 1.

Possess six (6) months of work experience in a human resources profession which demonstrates the capability to perform a variety of recruitment functions, such as posting vacancy announcements and rating applicants for qualifications and eligibility.

2. Possess experience utilizing an automated recruitment and staffing system (i.e. USA Staffing, Avue, Resumix, PeopleSoft, etc.) 3.

Possess prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)4. Ability to work with a variety of human resources information systems.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Applicants will possess prior work experience in a NAF Human Resources Office in a recruitment and placement capacity.

Major Duties:

  • Performs a wide variety of technical support, focused primarily in the areas of recruitment and staffing.
  • Coordinates with management officials to recruit for position vacancies.
  • Creates and posts vacancy announcements.
  • Rates resumes for qualifications, hiring preference/priority criteria and other job-related criteria; refers qualified candidates to management for consideration.
  • Responds to applicant and management inquiries on procedures such as application procedures, application statuses, criteria used in qualifications decisions.
