Job Description

Recruitment Number 24-0545

The immediate vacancy is located at Oahu Community Correctional Center in Kalihi, Oahu.

Salary: $3,606 to $4,563 per month (SR-11, Step C to I)

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Requirements

Performs substantive human resources clerical work which requires an examination of the contents of documents and the exercise of judgment to determine the proper course of action; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

General Experience: One year of progressively responsible general office clerical experience.

Specialized Experience: Two years of experience in an office where the work required the knowledge and application of pertinent human resources rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.

Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Requirement: As required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA), Federal law states that "...an agency shall not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates and who:
1. Has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail or lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility or other institution.
2. Has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
3. Has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in #2 above.
4. Has been the subject of substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment or resigned during a pending investigation of alleged sexual abuse or sexual harassment.

Other Requirements: Applicants who are conditionally offered employment or conditionally approved for movement into positions with the Department of Public Safety shall be subject to drug screening, as required by Federal, State or local law or departmental policy; and will be subject to an intensive background check.
