Full Job Description

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a HR SPEC, Position Description Number PDD2958000 , and is part of the SC HRO, South Carolina Army National Guard.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1.

Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experiences gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications.

An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Parenthetical titles may be used with the basic title of the position to further identify the duties and responsibilities performed and the special knowledge and skills needed.

For all positions, 1-year specialized experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade.

Specialized experience is experience that prepared the applicant to perform the duties of the position.

The applicant's educational-degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience.

An applicant must demonstrate the specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its position grade and career level.

Specialized experience factors encompass human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S.

Army, or U.S. Air Force. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3.

Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 4.

May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. 5. The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment.

You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission. Major Duties:

This position is located in the Human Resources Office (HRO).

The purpose of this position is to perform work of at least 25% in at least two but no more than four specialization areas for a total of 100%.

Duties are performed to either Army (ARNG) or Air National Guard (ANG) organizations and the full-time workforce within the State.

Work performed is in administrative positions that manage, supervise, administer, advise on, or deliver human resources management products or services.
