Under limited supervision of the Supply Manager, with discretion in scheduling, training, and daily oversight of Pee Dee Regional Center housekeeping activities, this position:
  • Provides oversight and directions to housekeeping and floor maintenance staff. Ensures coverage in all buildings to maintain regulations and policies.
  • Performs regularly scheduled housekeeping inspections to ensure high standards are being met. Reports inspection findings to Supply Manager.
  • Develops staff potential through effective training on cleaning skills, use of chemicals, and equipment. Builds team spirit through strong leadership and effective use of staff meetings.
  • Observes staff to ensure they are using proper techniques.
  • Maintains accountability of equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Performs duties of subordinate, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is located at Pee Dee Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Florence, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED, and custodial or maintenance experience directly related to the area of employment.

Qualifications

Knowledge of how to properly carry out custodial tasks. Knowledge of custodial standards and requirements. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of personnel, procurement and budgeting practices in state government. Knowledge of the concepts and techniques of on-the-job training. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to prioritize and make the optimal use of personnel, materials and equipment. Ability to plan, direct and review the work of subordinates.
