This job involves repairing and maintaining heavy military equipment like bulldozers, generators, and boats, from simple tune-ups to full overhauls, ensuring everything runs smoothly for naval operations.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience as a mechanic who can work independently or in teams, troubleshoot problems quickly, and handle complex systems without much oversight.

You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the EXPEDITIONARY MAINTENANCE CENTER (EMC) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Troubleshooting and evaluating CESE and/or CEEI equipment systems; 2) Disassembling, reassembling and conducting inspections, repairs and replacements of diesel and gasoline engines; 3) Performing maintenance services independently and in teams; 4) Identifying overall mechanical condition of vehicles/equipment and correction of deficiencies required (repair hydraulic, lifting, loading, turning and positioning systems including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic controls).
