This job involves leading a team of mechanics in repairing, maintaining, and operating heavy mobile equipment like vehicles, trucks, and construction machinery for a naval facilities command in Florida.
You'll assign tasks, troubleshoot issues, perform hands-on repairs, and ensure equipment is ready for use in tasks like excavation and rigging.

You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Leader in the Production Division of the Public Works Department of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Lead or Supervise; I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1)Determining the cause of malfunctions and makes repairs to a variety of heavy mobile equipment and vehicles; 2)Completing major repairs, overhauls, and modifications independently; 3)Conducting functional and performance tests on completed work; and 4)Measuring, fitting and installing components, such as pistons, valves, bearings, gears.
MUST POSSESS A VALID COMMERICAL LICENSE (CDL) MUST POSSESS A VALID CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT OPERATORS LICENSE MUST POSSESS A CRANE OPERATORS LICENSE MUST POSSESS A MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT LICENSE Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification Handbook for Trades and Labor Occupations.
