About the Position: Responsible for providing comprehensive occupational health services to eligible beneficiaries in the area of responsibility (AOR) of the MTF.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Order labs, x-rays, immunizations, and other ancillary tests; 2) Conduct various screenings, such as vision, vital signs, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms (EKGs); 3) Scheduling of pre-employment, pre-placement, and termination exams.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Major Duties:

  • Provides patient screening to obtains and review medical and/or occupational history.
  • Performs various screenings, such as vision, vital signs, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms (EKGs) and reviews results for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verifies and orders all indicated laboratory studies, x-rays, immunizations, and other ancillary tests as appropriate.
  • Triages patients as they arrive to identify which examinations/evaluations need to be expedited.
  • Evaluates workplace compliance with occupational health education requirements.
  • Provides administrative support such as patient scheduling and coordination of pre-placement and routine physical exams.
