About the Position: his position is located in San Antonio, Texas with the Defense Health Agency Network Central team. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) serving as a senior expert for a healthcare facility providing technical guidance on issues related to the planning, coordination or execution of the facilities' accreditation and compliance programs; 2) developing measures to sustain a continuous readiness and preparation for accreditation; 3) analyzing various regulations, directives, or other accrediting reference materials/standards for a healthcare facility.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Use analytical techniques such as research, interpretation, evaluation, application, and enforcement of federal and state laws, regulatory standards, rules, orders, and government agreements in a hospital and business occupancy healthcare settings.
  • Distribute Joint Commission and other applicable accrediting organizations’ standards and intents throughout the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a repository of Joint Commission and other applicable accrediting bodies’ reference materials.
  • Serve as the technical and administrative authority on issues related to the planning, coordination and execution of the organization's accreditation and compliance programs.
  • Consult and coordinate the assessment and evaluation of critical, programs and improvement initiatives; and identify and facilitate collaboration and communication between appropriate services.
  • Conduct analysis of operations using surveys conducted by The Joint Commission and other accrediting organizations; clinical quality assessments and assurance, patient safety, risk management, credentialing/privileging adverse actions.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure assigned Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
