About the Position: This position is located at the 99th Medical Group, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. -A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring regulatory and accreditation standards are met; analyzing healthcare data to identify problems with healthcare processes; and making recommendations/implementing proposed policies or processes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Major Duties:

  • Manage the Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) Program, ensuring the program is in compliance with Federal, state and local health care law and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the facility’s Quality of Care reviews for adverse events, such as Potentially Compensable Events (PCEs), malpractice claims, and active-duty deaths.
  • Conduct staff visits to Clinics to review administrative management of accreditation standards and healthcare quality programs and ensure that appropriate action is taken to correct evidence of noncompliance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on activities related to the development and monitoring of accreditation/reaccreditation, compliance standards, and health services quality management.
  • Interprets and provides timely and accurate advice to the staff on any requirements for changes in practice to maintain compliance.
