Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting the day-to-day administrative and business operations of an army health clinic, such as managing staff training, personnel records, and scheduling through computer systems.

It acts as a key contact between the clinic and higher administration to ensure smooth running.

A good fit would be someone organized with experience in office work in healthcare or similar settings, who enjoys helping teams stay efficient.

About the Position: This position is located in Reynolds Army Health Clinic at Fort Sill, OK.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing administrative operations in a clinical setting; preparing written correspondence; and utilizing health care system databases to enter and retrieve data.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts. Major Duties:

  • Provide direction and assistance to clinic staff regarding administration and business operations.
  • Function as a liaison between the clinic and the department administrative officer for coordination of clinical administrative actions.
  • Perform internal administrative responsibilities related to the efficient operation of the clinic, such as in/out processing, tracking training compliance, initiating personnel actions, and managing and reporting time and attendance data.
  • Utilize the hospital information data systems to enter and retrieve data; to create and edit profiles, templates, and schedules; to freeze and unfreeze templates; or to cancel and/or reschedule based upon unforeseen circumstances.
  • Act on behalf of the supported clinic chief for all matters related to clinical practice management and business operations.
