This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Healthcare Administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience for the GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes writing reports to recommend improvements for healthcare program operations; performing a variety of automation functions to maintain healthcare administrative data; and answering questions to resolve administrative problems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Healthcare Administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Major Duties:

  • Assists in the preparation of the agenda items, presentations and reports.
  • Attends planning conferences and meetings which affect current and future requirements of the program.
  • Obtains workload data to track progress in meeting objectives and use of resources.
  • Provides assistant level support for Health System Specialist functions.
  • Prepares correspondence, reports, and other documents in draft and final form using a Word, PowerPoint or Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Uses office automation systems to perform management and/or support assignments.
  • Develops professional Power-Point presentations on data identified by supervisor.
