Full Job Description

The Grants Coordinator reports to the Strategic Grants and Initiatives Manager and supports the implementation, administration, and evaluation of the Metro Nashville Arts Commission’s community funding programs and initiatives.

The position plays a key role in coordinating grant processes, grantee communications, and ensuring efficient, equitable, and transparent program operations.

Requirements

  • Supports the day-to-day implementation and administration of the Metro Arts annual grant programs, including General Operating grants, Thrive project grants, and Community Arts Leaders of Nashville.
  • Coordinates administrative aspects and duties across the grant lifecycle, including application intake and review preparation, award processing, contracting, and grant closeout.
  • Maintains accurate records and data in the Metro Arts grant management system.
  • Supports the administration of grant review panels, including scheduling, preparation of materials, and documentation of panel proceedings.
  • Serves as primary liaison to grantees throughout grant lifecycle to respond to inquiries, provide individualized guidance, and facilitate timely submission of required documentation.
  • Supports outreach and education efforts by holding informational workshops and participating in community events to increase awareness of and access to funding opportunities.
  • Provides tailored assistance and training to prospective and current grantees through grant clinics, consultations, and other support activities.
  • Conducts site visits and check-in meetings to monitor progress and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Compiles and synthesizes program data and prepares reports that contribute to policy making, planning, and evaluation.
  • Conducts ongoing research on current and emerging trends in arts grantmaking.
  • Provides support to the Grants and Funding Committee of the Arts Commission.
  • Assists in gathering and developing information for public communications including newsletters, reports, social media, and other platforms.
  • Represents Metro Arts in relationships with diverse stakeholders, including individuals and organizations to strengthen partnerships, outreach, and opportunities aligned with the mission.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience in administrative, arts, or community program administration.

Additional Information
