The immediate vacancies are with the Department of Land & Natural Resources in Maalaea, Kihei, Wailea, and Lahaina.

This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Requirements

Perform a variety of semi-skilled manual work tasks involved in road, building, and other maintenance projects, or refuse collection work involving continuous heavy physical labor as a major work assignment; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Experience and Training: ONE (1) YEAR of manual unskilled and/or semi-skilled work experience in general construction and/or maintenance; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancies have this requirement.

Physical Requirements: Some positions require lifting and carrying objects of varying weights without assistance or with the assistance of another person and/or the use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck, etc.) for heavier loads, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Special Requirement: Some positions require a Forklift Certification within 6 months from the date of hire.
