Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an engineer at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, where you'll troubleshoot and fix issues during submarine maintenance and repairs, using specialized software tools to guide teams and ensure projects stay on track.

You'll provide technical support for ship projects, monitor work progress, manage resources, and represent the department in meetings to make decisions on scheduling and execution.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a General Engineer in the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer, troubleshooting and resolving issues arising from submarine maintenance and repair by utilizing database tools such as Advanced Industrial Management (AIM), Electronic Forms (eForms), and Supervisor's Desk (SUPDESK); ability to interpret Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and other requirements to increase production and provide technical direction to Ship's Force.

  • You will be responsible for the Engineering Division technical field engineering support for project waterfront availabilities.
  • You will review and monitor the progress of work to ensure ability, understanding, and all necessary training are maintained.
  • You will prepare and delegate Engineering Division non-nuclear and nuclear interface work.
  • You will determine resource requirements to meet existing and projected workload.
  • You will identify nonconformance to existing conditions and/or specifications and initiate wavers when required to support nuclear key events.
  • You will attend conferences as a representative for the Engineering and Planning Department, make decisions on technical matters, resourcing, workload scheduling and execution goals.
  • You will provide general guidance and direction of subordinate personnel within project teams.
