Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an engineer to plan, review, and improve maintenance strategies for aircraft carriers in the Navy, ensuring they stay ready for operations.

You'll analyze data, assess risks from delayed repairs, and update plans to include new technologies.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the LIFE CYCLE ENGINEERING BRANCH of CARRIER PLANNING ACTIVITY.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band GS-11 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer planning and executing, analyzing data to improve efficiency of naval maintenance and repair operations.

  • You will review work completed by other engineers, technicians, and contractors for life cycle management procedures, policies and strategies.
  • You will update and refine aircraft carrier class maintenance plan requirements to support operation requirements and material readiness.
  • You will evaluate the effect of deferring maintenance on aircraft carriers and develop risk assessments to document the impact to aircraft carrier life cycle strategies.
  • You will validate maintenance requirements.
  • You will develop life cycle strategies for maintenance of slow to degrade aircraft carrier distributive systems and selected components.
  • You will update maintenance strategies to incorporate new technologies, change in operation requirement or changes to executability requirements.
