This job involves managing the flow of fuel in a naval base, including receiving, storing, and distributing petroleum products using pumps, valves, and pipelines while ensuring safety and accuracy.

You will serve as a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER in the NAVY SUPPLY SYSTEMS COMMAND (NAVSUP) FLCJ of NAVSTA MAYPORT.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including; 1) Operating equipment to control the movement of petroleum products, including receiving, storing, transferring, and issuing bulk fuels from storage tanks, ships, and barges by managing pipelines, valves, and pumps in accordance with written and verbal instructions; 2) Monitoring and controlling fuel transfer operations using electronic remote control boards, observing pressure gauges, and calculating fuel flow rates to maintain proper tank levels and system pressure; and 3) Using computer-based programs to maintain operational data and records, adhering to all safety regulations, and completing required training for fuel handling procedures.
I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
