The Executive Director’s Office sets the strategic direction for the Department of Labor and Employment; determines strategic and legislative initiatives and objectives, and oversees, at the highest levels, the daily operations of the Department.

This position serves as the first point of contact with Colorado Department of Labor (CDLE) customers who visit the 707 17th Street building. Greets and welcomes visitors in a friendly, helpful manner. Determines the nature of their business with the Department and utilizes judgment and knowledge of the Department’s programs and functions to direct visitors to the appropriate location for assistance. Notifies visitors of building security policies and procedures and ensures that visitors follow established security protocols. Assists in answering the main phone line and provides information or directs callers to the proper party. First-line staff responsible for assessing current and future security needs and addresses short falls by collaborating with front desk lead and supervisor. Requires creativity and resourcefulness to maximize security while balancing available resources, customer service and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only:
Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position

OR

Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years

SAVE THE DATE: The comparative analysis portion of this recruitment will require all qualifying applicants to complete an online skills assessment.

This assessment is currently scheduled to take place from April 24th to 11:59PM on May 1st however these dates are subject to change based on the needs of the recruitment.

This exam will feature 39 questions with a time limit of 39 minutes to complete.

The question types will be: simulated office program operations, true or false, multiple choice, and a timed typing test.

You will be give the opportunity to alert us if you require ADA related accommodations to complete this test when you receive the test instructions on May 30th.


Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be a Colorado resident at time of application.

  • You must pass a thorough background check prior to employment which will include the E-Verify process.

  • Must Have Valid CO Driver License - this position will occasionally be required to operate a state vehicle, you must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check in order to be selected for this position.

  • The person selected for this position must be fluent (read, speak, write) in English and Spanish.

  • This is a 100% in office position, hybrid and remote options will not be available.


Appeal Rights:
