Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves inspecting trees in city streets and parks to assess risks, plan maintenance, and keep track of tree data to keep public spaces safe and healthy.
You'll work with databases, guide contractors, and help shape city tree policies.

Job Summary
Individual conducts site visits related to trees within the publics right-of-way and city parks.
The position is responsible for determining tree maintenance requirements, performs tree risk assessments assigning priority based on tree condition, inventories public trees and updates inventories based on completed work, enters, and maintains data in work management databases, and verifies the quality of work performed by contracted vendors.
Independent judgment is crucial to determine and minimize risk to the public from public trees.
Must independently implement arboricultural concepts/standards and utilize personal experience to assist in maintaining the City's Urban Forest.

Associate's degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, or related field plus three (3) years full-time experience in Arboriculture, or a minimum of five (5) years full time experience in Arboriculture or Urban Forestry.
Individual must be an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist and have the qualifications to obtain an ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) within 12 months.
A valid driver’s license required.
