Full Job Description

You will serve as a FOREIGN MILITARY ASSISTANCE SPECIALIST (COUNTRY PROGRAM MANAGER) in the N3 COUNTRY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SUBDIVISION of NET SEC ASTFLD ACT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing Department of War education and training programs for foreign countries; 2) Collaborating with assigned countries to implement training needs; 3) Maintaining country training programs in the Defense Security Assistance Management System or similar systems; 4) Managing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) training cases; AND 5) Possessing moderate to advanced computer literacy that demonstrates the ability to quickly learn training management systems..

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will manage and maintain assigned countries’ training programs in the DSAMS Training Module.
  • You will review pertinent international military training program plans and provide professional advice on foreign training matters.
  • You will ensure that special training needs of assigned countries are considered along with other world-wide requirements, including submission of sufficient justification for the needed training.
  • You will direct the use of funds deposited on the case, recognizing negative performance indicators, low balance(s), or funding use-rates that exceed the cases’ planning factors, and initiating corrective actions when required.
  • You will communicate status of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case development, implementation, reconciliation and closure via official correspondence, email or other message types, and Point Papers.
