Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves planning and coordinating the deployment of military forces worldwide to meet the needs of combat leaders, including creating annual plans for how forces are allocated across global operations.
A good fit would be someone with experience in military operations who can handle complex planning, lead teams, and work closely with senior officials to adapt strategies as situations change.
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The incumbent will facilitate and execute the development of sourcingrecommendations and plans to meet the Joint force requirements of Combatant Commanders and the development of the annual base order of the Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP) signed by the SECDEF for DoD forces worldwide.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Providing joint force deployment execution using experience in military operational planning, execution, and force deployment operations, and Joint Staff related experience; Planning and organizing own work and those of others where complex, numerous, varying, and diverse demands are involved in supporting mission objectives; Supporting senior officials by analyzing, interpreting, and executing responsibilities to achieve mission goals and strengthen relationships with leaders, peers, subordinates, and stakeholders; Revising and adapting senior military operational, functional, and concept plans to those directives of the Joint Staff and Services.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Major Duties:
As a FORCE ROTATION SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Supports current operational analysis and emergency action requirements of force providing and deployment of joint forces and capabilities in response to Combatant Commander (CCDR) requested capabilities.
Facilitates and executes development of sourcing recommendations and plans to meet the Joint Force requirements of Combatant Commanders and the development of the annual base order of the Global Force Management Allocation Plan.
Plans, organizes, directs and lead team analysis projects and studies.
Reviews draft orders, doctrine and policy documents and develops recommendations that may significantly change, interpret, or develop Joint Staff issues concerning Global Force Management (GFM) planning and execution.
Leads the Joint Work Groups to track submission, Joint Staff validation, and Joint Staff staffing of all Combatant Commander's requirements.
