About the Position: This position is with the Nutrition Care Division, Production and Service Branch located at Tripler Army Medical Center, on the Island of Oahu, HI.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Food Service Worker ~ without more than normal supervision.
To meet the screen out element applicants should document experience where they are able to perform common Food Service Worker asks to include plating food items and perform various cleaning task(s) as assigned.
I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion make sure they are properly performed.
- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc.
(Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work includes duties requiring light to heavy physical efforts, such as frequently lifting items weighing up to 45 pounds (trays of food or dishes); frequent pushing tray service carts, utility carts, etc.
when fully loaded. Work involves constant walking, pushing, standing, and frequent talking, stooping, bending, and lifting.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work areas are often uncomfortably warm and noisy, e.g., noisy kitchen and dishwashing areas. Worker is exposed to the danger of minor cuts, bruises, and burns from equipment.
There is danger of slipping on floors, which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverages have been spilled. Work is performed on non-resilient tile flooring.
Incumbent is exposed to extreme temperature changes in moving from hot kitchen areas to walk-in cold storage areas.
Workers may be exposed to hostility or other unnatural reactions from patients, along with potential unpleasant sights and smells of patient care areas. Works under established time deadlines.
