Job Description

Summary

Under the direct supervision of Food Service Director, this position:
  • Drives food carts to deliver food and supplies to cottages.
  • Performs general food service/warehouse duties on campus.
  • Follows established work schedules and training procedures
  • Demonstrates correct techniques of rotating all food items.
  • Maintains food service records and fills phone orders.
  • Prepares records and check off lists.
  • Follows dry stores and refrigerated food procedures to ensure optimum storage conditions.

The position for this posting are located at Coastal Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

There are no minimum training and experience requirements for this class. A valid Driver's License is required for this position.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution and serving of food products.

Knowledge of dietetic principles involved in planning and reviewing menus for nutritional adequacy, dietary balance and attractiveness of prepared food products.

Knowledge of the methods, materials and appliances used in a bakery. Ability to teach food preparation and cooking. Ability to maintain food service records and prepare written reports.

All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
