This job involves training and evaluating flight crew members on the UH-60A Black Hawk helicopter, including ground instruction and in-flight assessments to improve their skills and ensure safety.
It requires hands-on experience as a flight engineer and the ability to work independently under general supervision.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT ENGINEER (INSTRUCTOR), Position Description Number D0606000 and is part of the KS AASF 1, National Guard.
Military Grades: E2 through E7 Compatible Military Assignments: 15T or 68W GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of aircraft weight and balance computations; aircraft performance data; aircraft records maintenance; and aircraft systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience as an instructor/flight examiner providing instruction, evaluation and examination on ground and operational training flights to develop and upgrade skills of aircrew members.
Applying knowledge of the full range of aircrew duties and responsibilities, methods of instruction and requirements of the program, performs standardization.
currency, instrument, proficiency, tactical, emergency and special tasks evaluation flights.
Experience assessing newly assigned individuals' level of experience and training through review of training records and/or proficiency flight evaluation to determine proficiency and skill status.
Major Duties:
As a FLIGHT ENGINEER (INSTRUCTOR), GS-2185-10, you will instruct and perform flight crew work supporting UH 60A Black Hawk transport helicopter.
Serve as instructor/flight examiner providing instruction, evaluation and examination on ground and operational training flights to develop and upgrade skills of aircrew members.
Serve under the supervision of Chief, Training Operations, who provides general guidance on overall objectives to be achieved.
Incumbent independently carries out work in accordance with existing guidance and established procedures depicted in operations manuals, safety directives, maintenance schedules orders and manuals, command directives and local operating procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
