These projects use a variety of fish capture methods and the incumbent will be involved with operational planning, crew training, fieldwork, logistics, and the installation and removal of telemetry monitoring infrastructure.
In addition, this position involves data entry, QA/QC, potentially report writing, and report editing as requested for Yukon River Area research projects.
The incumbent should be comfortable traveling by skiff and small aircraft.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
With a Fairbanks duty station, the incumbent will start in spring preparing for fieldwork in the office and adjacent storage facilities, will assist Project Leader and the lead Fish and Wildlife Technician in equipment preparation, procurement, and logistical planning.

After the field season, the incumbent will travel back to Fairbanks and will once again be based out of the Fairbanks office during field equipment storage, and post-season QA/QC data checks.
During this post-field season timeline, there may be opportunities to assist with remote tracking tower infrastructure work, aerial surveys, and assisting adjacent programs with field work.
