This job involves working as a firefighter on a Navy base, handling everything from putting out fires and rescuing people to managing hazardous material spills and providing basic emergency medical care.
You'll drive fire trucks, operate equipment, and help train others while protecting people, property, and the environment in high-risk areas like airfields with aircraft and fuel.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on experience in fire departments or emergency services who thrives in team-based, fast-paced situations.
You will serve as a Firefighter (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the Fire and Emergency Services department of NAVSUPPACT SOUDA BAY.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department brigade; performing rescue operations; and detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards and; 2) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures and; 3) Performing work at airfields handling aircraft carrying large volumes of fuel, sometimes nuclear weapons or highly flammable or explosive cargo.
