This job involves working as a firefighter in Greece for the U.S.
Navy, handling everything from putting out fires and rescuing people to managing hazardous materials spills and providing basic emergency medical care, often at airfields with high-risk aircraft.
It's ideal for someone with hands-on experience in fire departments or emergency services who is physically fit, certified in key firefighting and medical skills, and ready for irregular hours in a demanding environment.
You will serve as a Firefighter (BLS/HAZMAT Technician) in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAVSUPPACT SOUDA BAY, Greece.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures; and 7) Performing work at airfields handling aircraft carrying large volumes of fuel, sometimes nuclear weapons or highly flammable or explosive cargo.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Required DOD/IFSAC/ProBoard certifications: Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Airport Firefighter, Driver/Operator ARFF, Driver/Operator-Pumper, Hazardous Materials Technician.
Required NREMT Basic Life Support license: National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Firefighters must be physically fit at all times in order to perform the duties of their position to the best of their abilities.
As such, all operationally based 0081 series employees shall participate in a Wellness and Fitness Program established by their Fire Department, in order to maintain a level of health and fitness necessary for performing their job functions.
[IAW NFPA 1583 Standard on Health-Related Fitness Programs for Fire Fighters and DoDI 6055.6 F&ES] Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
In accordance with NFPA 1582 and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) standards. The employee must wear a uniform and safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and falls under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program.
