Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a FIRE SAFETY ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST in the Commander Naval Surface Group Western Pacific (CNSGWP) command of COMNAVSURFGRU WESTPAT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Conducting assessments and providing technical guidance/training on naval damage control and shipboard firefighting operations; 2) Applying applicable regulations and policies related to shopboard fire prevention, damage control, and safety (i.e.

Industrial Ship Safety Manual for Fire Prevention) 3) Executing programs focused on improving fire response capabilities to ensure compliance with ship safety standards; 4) Analyzing shipboard damage control and readiness data for trends to relay findings to senior leadership.

  • You will be responsible to conduct shipboard assessments, policy reviews, and training for shipboard Fire Marshals and Inport Emergency Teams for all CNSGWP ships located in the Commander Seventh Fleet Area of Responsibility.
  • You will provide recommendations to the CNSP Force Damage Control Officer on policy and technical issues for all aspects of Shipboard Firefighting both within and outside of industrial facilities
  • You will assist in the planning, executing, monitoring, of short- and long-term strategy and process improvement efforts to improve the fire response capabilities.
  • You will Provides technical guidance.
  • You will monitor the readiness and material condition of surface ships firefighting equipment and associated supporting equipment.
