About this Position:
The MDARD Bureau of Food Safety and Animal Health is committed to protecting food and animal health to safeguard animal agriculture, the food supply, public health, and well-being. This position supports fiscal stewardship for the Animal Industry Division, as follows: a role in oversight and analysis of the operating budget and monitoring expenditure levels, budget projections and reporting; administration of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements; coordinates business process and financial functions such as purchasing, payment of supplies and services, and procurement oversight, etc.; serves as the division’s Travel Liaison; and, attends/participates in division and bureau meetings in areas of assignment.

Requirements
EducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting, finance, and economic courses.
ExperienceFinancial Analyst 9No specific type or amount is required.
Financial Analyst 10One year of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9.
Financial Analyst P11Two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10.
Financial Analyst 12Three years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11.
Qualifications
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
