Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading disaster recovery efforts for small businesses affected by emergencies, coordinating with government agencies, and managing field teams to help survivors apply for loans and set up support centers.
A good fit would be someone with experience in emergency response or program management who enjoys fieldwork, training others, and working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
It's based in Atlanta but requires travel to disaster areas.
You will serve as a FIELD OPERATIONS SPECIALIST for US Small Business Administration, Field Operations Center East - FOCE in Atlanta, Georgia.
This position provides assistance in disaster recovery operations and the field administration of the SBA Disaster Loan Program to disaster survivors.
Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
You will be qualify based on experience. Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer.
Average work hours must be stated on resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.

GS-12: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position.
This specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Implementing policies, guidelines, and/or procedures for a disaster or emergency program; AND Leading or overseeing team operations in the field; AND Planning and delivering employee training; AND Assessing the needs of an operational program and adapting the appropriate mix of resources and skills required to meet those needs.

As a FIELD OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the lead SBA official in the disaster area and is in charge of coordinating with federal, state and local officials and overseeing all SBA activities and staff for Presidential disaster declarations.
Represent SBA at Regional Interagency Steering Committee meetings and prepare and submit written reports.
Oversee and direct the interviewing of disaster survivors, assisting with application completion, and screening disaster loan applications (paper and electronic), and loan closings.
Coordinate with FEMA and the state and local disaster staff in planning and establishing Disaster Recovery Centers, and act to see that SBA's needs are met at those centers.
Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate a variety of training presentations utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
