Summary

This job involves managing a set of grants funded by the federal government, including handling applications, setting up projects, ensuring they finish properly, and closing them out while following all rules.

You'll also support the leaders of the federal programs team with compliance and other tasks.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field (or equivalent military experience: high school plus two years at E-6 level or above)
  • For level 9: No specific professional experience required
  • For level 10: One year of professional experience
  • For level P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year at an intermediate level equivalent to 10
  • Strong organizational skills for managing grant portfolios
  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance and project management
  • Ability to work hybrid schedule with at least 2 days in-office in Lansing, Michigan

This position serves as a program analyst for the Federal Programs unit. The position is responsible for the management of a portfolio of federally funded grants including application approval, project set-up, project completion and grant closeout. This position provides support and assistance to Federal Programs Managing Director and Federal Programs Manager related to project completion and compliance and is responsible for other assignments as determined by the Federal Programs Managing Director.

This position is based at MEDC Headquarters in Lansing and may work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days of in-office work required.

Requirements

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Departmental Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.

Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Qualifications

Departmental Analyst 9 - P11
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
