Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping military personnel and their families find and manage on-base or off-base housing by reviewing applications, counseling on options, and keeping records up to date.

It's an entry-level administrative role in the U.S. Marine Corps, perfect for someone with customer service experience who enjoys supporting service members and handling paperwork.

A good fit would be a detail-oriented person comfortable with data entry and basic office tasks.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04, such as assisting with housing applications, counseling on eligibility, and maintaining occupancy records
  • Ability to interview and counsel military, DoD, and civilian personnel on housing assistance
  • Skill in determining housing eligibility through screening processes
  • Experience processing assignments and terminations of pay-related vouchers for military housing
  • Proficiency in fulfilling reporting requirements for applicant files, occupancy data, and occupant history
  • Capability to conduct briefings on housing regulations, procedures, and policies
  • Office automation (OA) skills, including use of computer systems for record-keeping

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with accepting and reviewing housing applications and required documents; counseling applicants on housing eligibility and availability; and utilizing systems to maintain housing occupancy records.

  • You will interview and counsel military, Department of Defense (DOD) and other civilian personnel seeking housing assistance on-Base or off-Base.
  • You will determine housing eligibility status through the screening process.
  • You will process assignments/terminations of pay-related vouchers for service members assigned to/vacating from privatized military housing.
  • You will fulfil various reporting requirements regarding applicant files, occupancy data and occupant history.
  • You will conduct briefings to familiarize applicants and their dependents with housing regulations, procedures and policies.
