The primary purpose of this position is to exercise managerial authorities over administrative personnel within the directorate's executive staff, schedules, coordinates, and reviews activities of division and branch chiefs with respect to their interaction with senior directorate staff.
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes mastery of the application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or complex management processes and systems; Knowledge of Headquarters Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, and other major command policies, procedures, structures, missions, programs, and organizational relationships.
In addition to knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices and principles.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of advanced management and organizational principles and practices as well as qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of critical command business practices, plans, and programs.
2. Knowledge of Headquarters Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, and other major command policies, procedures, structures, missions, programs, and organizational relationships. 3.
Knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices and principles. 4.
Skills in gathering, assembling, and analyzing data/facts, developing conclusions, identifying trends, developing alternate/solutions, and making recommendations to resolve problems. 5.
Ability to plan and organize the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff. 6.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
DUTY 1: Provides support to management in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Directorate of of Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection with indirect oversight of resource management and administrative support functions.
DUTY 2: Performs special assignments to include resource management, long-term planning, functional/technical advice and guidance, and continuity of directorate program management.
DUTY 3: Represents the director at meetings attended by representatives of other staff offices, HQ AFRC and/or other major commands, HQ USAF, and other military agencies.
DUTY 4: Conducts studies and manages projects which are of special significance to the directorate such as planning and coordinating reorganizations, new missions, and unit conversions or in-activations that impact directorate resources, plans, etc.
