This unpaid internship places you on the communications team of the District of Columbia Courts, where you'll help create messages, design graphics, record videos, and manage social media to share information inside and outside the organization.
It's a chance for students to gain hands-on experience in court administration while contributing to fair and effective dispute resolution.
Ideal for enthusiastic undergraduates studying communication, journalism, or marketing who enjoy teamwork and value integrity and transparency.
The District of Columbia Courts offers internships for students interested in seeking valuable experience in court administration.
Interns have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Courts' mission to protect rights and liberties, uphold and interpret the law, and resolve disputes fairly and effectively in the District of Columbia.
This internship is for Summer 2026. Applicant must be: A U.S. Citizen or authorized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to intern in the U.S and at least 18 years old.
Must be able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week. Actively involved in an undergraduate program. Preference will be given to students with majors in Comunication.
Journalism, Digtal Marketing/ Marketing majors.
Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required.
If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts' values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency.
Major Duties:
This position is an unpaid internship working with the Communications Team of the Executive Office.
This teams misson it to provide effective internal and external communication that best represet the DC Courts.
The intern's major duties are below: Communications Intern Assist the communication team with internal and external communication messaging and style.
Assist with the creation of various forms of communcation. Assist the team with gathering input from divisions across the Courts. Assist with graphic design, video recording and social media creation.
